BMCC is a public, two-year coeducational college accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU), an institutional accrediting body recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation and the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Education.

According to NWCCU, “Regional accreditation of postsecondary institutions is a voluntary, non-governmental, self-regulatory process of quality assurance and institutional improvement. It recognizes higher education institutions for performance, integrity, and quality to merit the confidence of the educational community and the public. Accreditation or pre-accreditation by a postsecondary regional accrediting agency qualifies institutions and enrolled students for access to federal funds to support teaching, research, and student financial aid.”

The college is approved by both the State and Federal Veteran’s Administration to offer education and training under the various public laws pertaining to financial aid to veterans.

The Nursing program is accredited by the Oregon State Board of Nursing.

The Dental Assistant program is accredited by the American Dental Association.
