Blue Mountain Community College

The program will accept up to 30 students for fall term 2008. Due to space limitations on the number of students accepted, you are encouraged to complete the application process by June 15 , 2008. Initial application deadline is April 11, 2008, however, we will continue to accept applications until our program is full. Students will be responsible for the purchase of books and related materials, hard-toed boots, and required tools, which must be purchased before the instructional process begins.

Selection of qualified applicants will begin on June 18, 2008 with notifications to be sent to students starting on or before Monday, June 30 , 2008.

Students selected to participate in this program may be required to submit a $100.00 non-refundable deposit no later than Thursday, July 17, 2008. Your $100.00 deposit will be applied toward your fall term books and supplies. If we do not receive the enrollment verification and deposit by July 17th, we will assume that you do not wish to enter the program this fall and will assign your space to another applicant. If you decline enrollment for the 2008-2009 academic year, you must reapply to the program for the following year.

Applications will be processing with the following tier priorities.

Tier 1: All program entry requirements met prior to application deadline.
Tier 2: All program entry requirements met as of the end of spring term 2008.
Tier 3: Applications turned in after the deadline date and/or who have other academic restrictions.

This program received $1,220,423 (70% of its total cost) from a grant awarded under the President’s Community-Based Job Training Grants, as implemented by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Employment and Training Administration; Veteran's preference will be given to those applicants meeting the application requirements; Auxiliary aides and services are available upon request to individuals with disabilities.

As such, priority will be given to those applicants that meet the program requirements and are:

A) Veterans
B) Spouse of a veteran
