Dual Credit Program

Blue Mountain Community College and many local high schools participate in a state approved program known as “Dual Credit” whereby high school students take college-level courses in their high school by an approved teacher and receive both college credits and high school credits. Courses are recorded on a BMCC transcript in the same manner as regularly enrolled college students and may be used toward a degree or certificate program at BMCC or transferred to other colleges. They may also be used as information presented to a prospective employer to verify training and competencies. A variety of courses are available in both professional technical and lower collegiate transfer areas. Students and their parents or guardians are encouraged to check with their local high schools for course availability and advising. Students must have the approval of their teacher before registering and must complete placement tests if taking math or writing for dual credit.
