The Office of Instruction, oversees and supports all teaching and learning activities at Blue Mountain Community College. Our dedicated faculty provide quality instruction, and we work with universities, K-12 partners and local businesses to provide relevant curriculum in both credit and non-credit offerings. The Office of Instruction leads our on-going accreditation review and provides assessment of student learning at course, program and institutional level. Our office, led by the Vice President of Instruction, , includes all full and part-time faculty, Dean of General Education and Academic Support, Dean of Career Technical Education, Executive Director of Community Education, Director of Library and Learning Hub, , Instructional Office operations and support staff, eLearning and Early College Credit Coordinators, Center Directors in Baker City, Milton-Freewater, Hermiston, and Boardman, and Contract Out of District coordinators in Union and Grant Counties .
The Office of Instruction at Blue Mountain Community College provides leadership and guidance for programs and courses to support student success, completion, and advancement. BMCC faculty and staff provide high quality instruction that allows students to achieve their educational goals.
The Vice President of Instruction acts as the chief academic officer of Blue Mountain Community College and is responsible for oversight all academic programs (transfer, career technical and non-credit community education), assessment of student learning, academic personnel decisions, budget development, program and curriculum development, improvement of teaching and learning, and acts as the accreditation liaison officer. In this role, the Vice President of Instruction works closely with the faculty, academic deans and the Executive Leadership Team internally; the wider college district community including employers, ESD and public-school districts; and other community colleges and universities in the state and region.

The Dean of General Education and Academic Support provides strategic leadership for the College’s transfer degree programs, and administrative oversight of the lower division collegiate faculty. This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality instruction, fostering student success, and leading institutional assessment efforts. The Dean collaborates with faculty, staff, and administrators to promote academic excellence, equity, and continuous improvement across disciplines.

Dean Career Technical Education
The Dean of Career Technical Education provides administrative direction and equity-minded leadership for industry-aligned instruction that prepares students for immediate employment and/or further education. The Dean cultivates partnerships with employers, workforce boards, K-12 districts, and community organizations to identify and meet the workforce needs of the community.

Executive Director of Community Education
The Executive Director of Community Education manages the college’s non-credit and community education programs. This includes lifelong learning, workforce training, personal enrichment, and customized contract training. The Executive Director works with all of the College’s centers to expand access to educational opportunities that meet the needs of the community, local employers, and regional economic development goals.

Director of Library and Learning Hub
The Director of Library and Learning hub manages library services, including digital and physical collections, research support, and information literacy instruction. The Director directs the design and delivery of tutoring services that support students in-person and remotely.

Early College Credit & Community Education Coordinator
The Early College Credit and Community Education Coordinator leads the College’s Early College Credit (ECC) program by assessing the needs of ECC students and school districts and coordinating with instructional deans to provide courses in response to those needs.

The Director of Instructional Support Services is responsible for management of academic operations, coordinating the quarterly class schedule, including its timely encoding and publication; coordinating curriculum services, including reporting with the Higher Education Coordinating Council.

Provides high-level administrative assistant services as part of the support team for the Office of Instruction. Actively and independently participates within a team concept in the Office of Instruction. Participates as an active member of campus teams and committees. Performs all functions and activities within the guidelines and philosophy set forth in the BMCC Mission, Vision and Strategic Plan.
