Continuous Improvement

Institutional Effectiveness supports the strategic planning process by helping BMCC establish meaningful goals, identify measures of success, monitor progress, and use evidence to inform decisions. 

Through Institutional Effectiveness, BMCC evaluates how well we serve our students and communities, identify opportunities for improvement, and uses evidence to inform planning and resource decisions. 

Our goal is simple: to help BMCC continuously improve so that every student can achieve their educational and career goals.

Measuring Institutional Effectiveness

Institutional Effectiveness is not a single report, department, or annual activity. It is an ongoing college-wide process. 

• Mission: What is BMCC here to accomplish? 

• Planning: What are our priorities and goals? 

• Action: What strategies and resources will help us achieve them? 

• Evidence: What do the data and other evidence tell us? 

• Assessment: How well are our programs, services, and strategies working? 

• Improvement: What should we continue, change, expand, or discontinue? 

• Results: What difference did our actions make for students and our communities? 

Institutional Effectiveness closes the loop between what we plan, what we do, what we learn, and how we improve.
