Clarifying the Future: Blue Mountain Community College Nursing Program Remains Strong

Last Updated on May 15, 2024 by Jordan Monaco

A message from our President:

I want to address some conversations I am seeing regarding our nursing program here at Blue Mountain Community College (BMCC). First of all, our nursing program is not shutting down. Let me say that again: Nursing is here now, today, tomorrow, next month, next year- and so on. As many of us have experienced, demand for qualified health care professionals is at a major crisis level in this country, state and in our region for sure. This also includes us in the arena of health care education, such as nursing. We are currently interviewing qualified candidates to join our already immensely talented nursing faculty this fall. Due to state nursing board requirements- until that new hire has signed our offer, thus committing to be here with us in the Fall Quarter, we can only extend letters of acceptance to a portion of students on the wait list for the program. We anticipate completing this portion of our hiring process shortly, after which, those students on the wait list will be notified immediately.

Thank you for your understanding, grace and patience.
