Native American Club

K̓ʷałápam Wíyanawiša

The Native American Club aims to maintain cultural awareness and an Indigenous presence on campus. The club organizes a variety of events throughout the year, including the Annual Pow Wow on the Pendleton Campus.

Additionally, the Native American Club’s goal is to assist American Indian, Alaskan Natives, and Indigenous people throughout their higher education journey at BMCC.

During Native American Heritage Month in November, the Native American Club will host various workshops and presentations made available for students, faculty members and the community.

The club meets on a bi-weekly basis via zoom.

The Native American Club room is located in the Pioneer Hall, upstairs in the Library.

Honoring Native People Acknowledgment Statement

Blue Mountain Community College is on the traditional homelands of the Cayuse, Umatilla, and Walla Walla peoples. We pay respect to tribal elders both past and present and thank them for their stewardship of these lands. We extend that respect to all Indigenous people today.

Events and Classes

The BMCC Native American Club annual hosts at least one Powwow per year.
