For those who are curious about the natural world around them, inspired to solve global challenges, or enjoy the wonders of the outdoors, a career in science may be for you. Science is a way of thinking and approach to understanding ourselves and our surroundings. Science is valued by society because critical thinking and data analysis can be applied to satisfy many basic human needs and improve living standards; for example, finding a cure for cancer, protecting endangered species, and innovating clean forms of energy.
Our science classes are of equal quality to those offered at a four-year institution; however, we offer small class and lab sizes, and more time learning with the instructor; all at a lower cost. Students pursuing STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) fields can spend two or three years at BMCC where they can complete the prerequisites to pre-professional programs like Medicine, Dental, Pharmacy, and Engineering. They would then spend their final year or two at a four-year school obtaining their bachelor degree.
We offer a variety of science courses across several disciplines including biological, physical and earth sciences. The courses you take along your academic journey will be unique to your discipline and interests. Our faculty advisors have experience in health care, research, and industry, and are there to guide you along the way. Start here. Go anywhere.
